Job Description

Role Overview

Motionmatics is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead Linux platform development, BSP engineering, AI integration, and system optimization on custom high-performance hardware platforms. The role involves working closely with hardware, FPGA, and vision teams to build AI-enabled embedded systems for mission-critical imaging applications

Responsibilities:

  • Lead BSP (Board Support Package) development for custom ARM-based platforms
  • Perform Linux board bring-up on new SoC / FPGA-based hardware
  • Develop and maintain custom kernel-space device drivers
  • Configure, customize, and optimize the Linux kernel
  • Develop embedded Linux distributions using Yocto / Buildroot
  • Configure and customize bootloaders (U-Boot or equivalent)
  • Integrate camera sensors and high-speed interfaces
  • Deploy and optimize object detection and AI inference pipelines
  • Perform hardware-software co-debugging and system validation
  • Optimize system performance, boot time, and resource utilization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical,Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of Embedded Linux development experience
  • Strong BSP and kernel-space device driver development
  • Deep understanding of Linux kernel architecture
  • Experience with Yocto/Buildroot and ARM-based SoCs
  • Proficient in C and multithreading (pthreads)
  • Strong debugging skills (GDB, JTAG, kernel logs, lab tools)
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART)
  • Comfortable with Linux user space and systemD services
  • Hands-on experience with Yocto (image building & recipe creation)
